We'd like to say a massive Thank You to all the good people who bought tickets to our party in Blu Jaz's Neon Lounge on Saturday 20th January 2024. Our proceeds of S$1,000 have been donated to the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (B.O.S.F)
B.O.S.F Veterinary Clinic
Samboja Lestari, Borneo
The s$1,000 we donated paid for a U.V Sterilization Unit and Medical Equipment boxes for the Veterinary Clinic at B.O.S.F’s rescue and rehabilitation centre at Samboja Lestari in Borneo. This centre provides care for 102 orangutans and 72 sun bears. A dedicated team of onsite vets conduct daily checks on all the animals. The vets carry out routine procedures and deal with intensive care patients who have fallen ill or arrived at the centre with injuries.
The animals in the photos above have all been rescued from the illegal pet trade or circuses, they never had chance to gain the skills needed to survive in the wild. As they cannot be released back into the forest these orangutans are living out their lives happily and healthily on the sanctuary’s islands. Since 1991, the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) has worked tirelessly to conserve the Bornean orangutan and its habitat, in cooperation with local communities, Indonesian authorities, and international partner organisations. We donated $400 (USD) to BOSF via their Orangutan adoption programme. This donation will help the BOSF team provide around-the-clock care to four orphaned orangutans for 12 months. The support BOSF provide to these endangered creatures helps them learn basic skills and plays a vital role in preparing them for a life in the wild.
